No sugarcoating it. Lost the job, it hurts. At first, we are unable to digest the fact that this actually happened. The way to the boss takes forever. The words will seem dancing in slomo during the conversation with the boss or HR. For some it may feel like a punch on the face. If you had been a seasoned employee, it would give you a psychological blow. Do not hesitate to accept your emotional wounds. Handle them with love. Talk to your bruised self esteem, it will help in restoring hope and optimism.

Calming the race in the brain is what was delayed for long. It is strange & hard to do now but it will really help for re-channelizing self and mental wellbeing.

Network to Recognize Your Power Connectors

Keep communicating with your family & friends. Let you virtual doors be open. Social butterflies could be of good help.

Re-evaluate & Update

Here's the time to calmly sit down & give the time your resume was asking for. Add, subtract things you want to. Do the same for your LinkedIn profile as well. You want to make it worthy for those quick 10 seconds glance!

Look for Virtual Conferences or Webinars

Virtual meet ups will help you slice & dice by various opportunities across the industry.


Facetime Video Call

Instead of mail or text, go for a more advanced version of the technology by looking for opportunities face to face.


Plan Up

Hiring is on (it is & always be). Update your strategies. Choosing something outside your career path is not a not-so-bad idea. Do not be afraid to take a little curve. Keeping doors open helps the opportunities to drive in!

Prepare Narrative

Come up with a clean and professional narrative. It is good to be honest.


Look at your finances

Talking money is awkward, but you may have to make some changes in your existing budget. Like eating at home, yoga instead of gym etc.


Remember, do not take the loss at heart

Know that your job loss is not a conclusion of your professional worth. So need not doubt your skills. Take the experience as a part of learning for the new workstation. And there must have been some thumbs up that you have got in your last role, highlight those in your new one.
